So we are 3rd day of launch weekend with our 6 year old nonverbal boy, Joshua. He can sit on the toilet 3-5 minutes at 15 -20 minute intervals for 4 hours straight. He still is peeing in the underpants. He had school today. We put him back in diapers for school and returned him to the underwear at home. We are still unsuccessful. He did poop twice and we didn’t catch it in time for him to sit. I believe he did come to us while he was peeing and missed the time to go pee.
Did I lose him when we put him in diapers for school? I think it’s still to early to put him in underwear for school; however the school is willing to potty train him

No I dont thing going to school in a diaper is hurting him at home, it's just that he needs to keep getting those reps in. It's such a HUGE AMAZING sign that midpee he's coming to you to use the bathroom, He's LEARNING how his body works and gives the signs to run to the bathroom. In those instances, of him telling you mid stream, as long as some pee lands in the toilet you reward it.
Regarding school, if they want to support you, I say LETS DO IT. Send him in with tons of undies and changes of clothes, the rewards, the instructions with the schedule and lets see how they do. Keep me posted.
