Jaxon is doing so much better with peeing in the toilet for almost a week now, but we are still having no poops and lots of wet clothing during the night in his pull up. Any advice on what I can do to support this?
Answer:
WAY TO GO JAXON!!!! Excellent progress on pee. I like to be systematic in my potty approach so first we work on daytime, get some good reps and then we can work on night time.
I would look at beverages .. do you stop them before bed? Are you making sure he is going potty one last time before he slips under the sheets? Are you making sure he's emptying the tank (pee stream to drip drop) or is he kinking the hose? (Hard stream that abruptly stops). Is he on any medication that has a side effect of incontininece?
For the poop..figure out from your data, when does he normally go.... where does he go to do it? How do you know he's had an accident? How are accidents handled?
Let me know.
AND GREAT PROGRESS!!!! xo Michelle

Hi,
Yes, he is doing really well! Today in particular, he is really holding and then I can physically see when he needs to go. He is still not going himself, but huge progress.
I think the issue at night be two fold from what you said- we need to stop him from drinking too late. He goes to bed early, but he pounds water before he goes to bed. Should we just cut it off? He does not take any medication.
Currently to go poop, he is going in the laundry room or shutting himself in a room. We tried to intercept him last night, but he had already gone in his underwear. We take him to the bathroom, make him (with help) put the poop in the toilet and flush. Then we wipe him or put him in the shower.
Thanks for your help! This week has been super hard, but he is doing a really nice job!
