We did data prior to the potty intensive and my son would pee every 3 hours. since we swtich to undwear he pees every 45 minutes and we are constantly changing him. Any advice?

OK, let’s do a reset here.
1. Will he happily sit on the toilet any time you ask him for 3-5 mins?
2. For the drinking, how much in ounces in the beverages he’s getting? How often is he getting it?
3. If he’s going in his underwear, is his movements restricted to a room attached to the bathroom? Is someone sitting with him to make sure he;s always in your vision so if you see pee start to happen you can run him to the bathroom?

I sit him on the potty and he doesnt do anything. Then we put on ne under wear and within 15 he pees again. It is not a long stream of urine.

I think the underwear are a new feeling and he is experimenting.
ok if it’s the underwear and its a new feeling and hes experimenting, it almost sounds like you think he likes doing that. If that is the case, what is the consequence for wet undies? Who is cleaning up the mess? It should be him having to stop what he’s doing and handle the natural consequence of what he did. BUT at the same time reminding him we have an amazing SUPERBOWL reward waiting for you on the other side when you go in the toilet.

If this is happening then one of 3 things or a combination of them are the problem…
1. I am not recording my data and realizing that if I take him and he hasn’t gone in awhile then adjust the time I take him again because Pee is imminent.
or 2. I am not watching him as close as I think I am…
or 3. I am not close enough to the bathroom to catch some of it in the toilet.
If you’ve restricted movement and you’re still missing it, that’s the key on what to fix. He needs to get some of the pee not all of it, some of it in the toilet to get the reward. That’s how he makes the connection.

The data before he went to underwear showed he peed about every 2 1/2 hour and we take him to the potty every 45 minutes. Are you suggesting I take him every 15 minutes when he wears underwear?
2. I am not watching him as close as I think I am… If he is laying on the couch I looking at him and touching him underwear. What else are you suggesting?

He is not ambulatory so restricting his movement is an issue for us. He is typically sitting on the couch. The restroom from the couch is about 7 feet but again by the time his underwear begins to appear wet and I lift him and get to the bathroom it is to late.
1. If your data says he goes every 2.5 hours and you take him and he doesnt that means i dont wait another 45mins..because pee is coming sooner rather then later, does that makes sense? Can you send me the data collection you’ve been doing and I can look?
2. If laying on the couch is when Pee in the pants happens then he doesnt lay on the couch which might also be making it harder for you to see it. Are you noticing any patterns? For exmple if he’s going to have an accident I can’t see is it when he’s laying on the couch?
3. I am confused about your response. He doesn’t walk? Have you been on any of the calls? Might be good to dialog as I feel like I am missing some pieces here.
Also please confirm if you’ve gotten any Pee or Poop wins in the toilet. thx.
