OPTIONAL COURSE STRATEGIES – Weekly Onboarding Emails

CREATING WEEKLY CHECK-IN/ONBOARDING EMAILS FOR YOUR COURSE

It’s a good idea to send your students weekly check-in emails as they go through the modules of your course.

You want to keep your students engaged, remind them what they are to be working on, send encouragement, and just pop into your student’s inboxes throughout the course!

A good “template” for these emails is:

  • Introduce and outline this week’s module
  • Let them know what they’ll create or accomplish or what actions they’ll take
  • Mention any obstacles or sticking points they might encounter with some tips for overcoming them
  • Encourage them!
  • Provide an easy link to log in and do the lesson/module right from the email
  • Ask for a response (such as what they did last week, something they need help with, share a win with you, etc)

You’ll set this up as a “Sequence” autoresponder that is automatically triggered when they enroll.
