We’re just new here 🙂 but Ive started the modules and tuned into a couple of coach recordings. Wondering if there is any advice on how to setup a ‘typical day’ so i can explain to Jaxon or do a timetable for him on what will be happening
Eg currently we do
Weekdays – mostly in nappies
Wakeup, sit on toilet straight away, night nappy off
He wears pullups to school so he wears nappy before school and at after school care
Gets home 5.30/6pm and has dinner/plays till bath
Sits on toilet before bath
Into pjs/night pullups
Bed
Weekends
Nappy at nighttime – otherwise underwear in day through to bathtime OR if we go out
Answer:
Hey mama! Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here. You're already doing one of the most important things showing up and tuning in. That’s how we win this.
QUESTONS/COMMENTS
MAKE SURE YOU'RE TAKING DATA!! Data will help you know if we need to adjust the schedule (ie: take every 15mins vs 30mins)
What is the reward? Is it a 10 on the desire scale?
He will sit happily for 3-5mins anytime you ask him to?
You asked about a typical day and how to structure it for Jaxon. First, your instinct to build a rhythm and make things predictable for him is spot on. Predictability lowers anxiety and increases success. So let’s tighten the structure while still giving it room to breathe.
Here’s how I’d coach you to lay it out based on what you shared:
Weekday Potty Routine (Let’s get this more intentional)
Wake up → Potty right away (you're doing this—YES!)
Before getting dressed for school → Potty attempt again, even if pull-up goes back on for school.
After school (5:30/6pm) → Change into underwear if he’s not already. Sit on the potty as part of the “home” transition routine. Set timer if needed (I love the Alexa trick: “Alexa, remind Jaxon to go potty in 30 minutes”).
Before bath → Potty again (keep this!)
After bath/pajamas → Final sit if needed before bed.
Weekend Flow (Let’s lock this in)
Stay in underwear unless you're going somewhere far. Use pull-ups strategically, not casually.
Wake → Potty
Before leaving house → Potty
Every 2–2.5 hours → Prompt him to go (and celebrate any success—even sitting!)
Before meals → Potty (pairing with mealtimes builds natural habit)
Before bath/bed → Potty
Add visuals if helpful: a printed daily schedule with icons or photos so he knows what to expect. And narrate it like a script: “We wake up, go potty, get dressed. Then we eat breakfast…”
Just know this: it’s not about doing it perfectly. It’s about stacking wins. And the more wins we create around the potty, the more confidence Jaxon builds. Momentum is key.

P.S. You’re not behind. You’re right on time. We’ll help you and Jaxon find that groove together. Keep going.
