I really appreciated the session with Greer. Her suggestion to try Daily Elements micro greens has relieved so much worry regarding our picky eater not eating any vegetable except an occasion bite of broccoli. Does she have any recommendations for getting calcium for a child who is on a gluten, dairy, very low sugar free diet? He won’t drink any of the plant based milks. Also, one food group he can have is meat, but I can only get him to eat pepperoni. He used to eat bacon and chicken nuggets, but he stopped eating them. Any suggestions for getting him to take a bite?
Answer:
I spoke with Greer and she advised the following:
Two options Renzos calcium chews or honestly egg shells. I had no idea you could eat egg shells but you can! You save your egg shells- bake them and grind them up into a powder. Then you can put them in Food/ Smoothies.
For expanding the pallet, I would work on the picky eater protocol. You'll do a bite for bite process. Sounds like he's pulling the old food rotation on you. Make sure he's hungry and you can rotate the things he would eat (Bacon and Nugget) and hold out on the pepperoni.
